Greenwood, C. & I. 1822 Map of the County of Somerset, from Actual Survey made in the Years 1820 & 1821. London: George Pringle. Housed in contemporary full calf lift-off case, with original gilt morocco spine label. The coloured map mounted in eighty segments backed on linen and trimmed with blue silk. Engraved vignette of Wells Cathedral to the lower left hand corner, key lower right. The silk loosening to the left hand lower corner edge, occasional light spotting and light age-toning, generally a bright clean example. The slipcase rather rubbed and tired, with some losses to the extremities and corners. A scarce example of this important early 19th century survey map of Somerset.
