Complete deck of I Tarocchi di Paracelso cards, circa 1993, subtitled 'Medico, chirurgo, filosofo e alchemista' referring to the medical doctor and alchemist Paracelsus (1493-1541). The 22 Majors use the 22 images from the illuminated alchemical manuscript Splendor solis' (British Library version) whose conception was in no way influenced by tarot imagery and had nothing to do with Paracelsus. The titles of the Majors here use the titles of the chapter in the Splendor solis manuscript to which the illustration applies, rather than any tarot association. (Text from the Tarot Database on The Alchemy Website.) Limited to 1000 copies (not numbered) and made primarily for the medical establishment (Kaplan and IPCS reference). According to the Alchemy Website database, this is a rare deck
