First edition; second issue according to McIlvaine, with 32pp publisher's advertisements to the rear; however opinions vary on the precedence of the first and second issue. Publisher's cloth, gilt titles to the spine, which is soiled, a few grazes to the lower corner, the boards mottled and discoloured, with some damp stains throughout, lettering to the front board a little faded, spine lightly cocked. A little loss to the cloth at the head of the rear joint; top edge discoloured. Gift inscription to the front pastedown. Rear hinge a little strained. The ads toned; a few odd marks to the leaves.
