Chapbooks & toy books. Three early 19th century c. 1820 Georgian chapbooks. Comprising Flowers that Never Fade by Lucy Leman Rede (Dean & Munday, with fifteen hand-coloured illustrations, stitched repairs to the spine); Nursery Rhymes (Dean & Munday, with eight hand-coloured illustrations, textblock loose from covers); and The House that Jack Built (J. Fairburn, eight hand-coloured illustrations, stitched repairs and loss to the edges). Original paper covers, sullied and a little edgeworn, two with historic stitches. Each with 1833 ink ownership inscriptions of Anne, Frederick or Benjamin Lowe, one with a lengthier ownership inscription. Leaves soiled, with pencil marks and a little grubbiness throughout. A good collection. (3)
