Bindings. Five decorative gilt leather bound volumes, early 20th century. Comprising 1913 The Poetical Works of Robert Browning, bound in quarter vellum with gilt and gouache with morocco label (corners bumped, two ownership inscriptions); 1905 Wessex Tales by Thomas Hardy, bound in half crushed morocco with decorative gilt tooled spine; Barchester Towers by Anthony Trollope (Talwin Morris designed quarter morocco bindings for Gresham Publishing, front hinge a little strained after the endpaper); 1934 A Modern Comedy by John Galsworthy bound in full crushed leather, gilt decorative front board and spine (spine a touch faded); and 1929 The Collected Poems of Rupert Brooke, full leather with relief blind-stamped portrait to the front board, gilt titles (front hinge cracked, frontispiece portrait loosening). Light occasional rubbing, generally a lovely and eye-catching collection. 8vo. (5)
