Almanacks. 1816-1916 Almanach de Gotha - a continuous 101 year run of Europe Year by Year, from Waterloo to the Somme, with an earlier odd volume dating to the French Revolution. Earlier volumes in paper covered boards with blind stamped decorations, later volumes bound in cloth with gilt titles to the spine, some soiling, toning and shelfwear, volumes for 1915 and 1916 neatly rebacked with the original spines laid down; some light spotting and tenderness to bindings, occasional ownership inscriptions and bookplates. Richly illustrated throughout with engraved plates including portraits, views and landscapes, historical and other engraved plates, some occasional ownership signatures and bookplates. A healthy run of over one hundred years of the Almanach de Gotha, an important reference to the nobility and monarchs of Europe from the 19th and early 20th century. Earlier titles 12mo, later small 8vo. One hundred and one issues. (Four shelves)
